Roast Tomato and Red Pepper Soup • Smoked Scottish Salmon • Grilled Fresh Asparagus with a Balsamic Dressing • Sweet Marinated Herrings • Creamy Garlic Mushrooms in Puff Pastry • Filo Pastry Basket filled with Mildly Curried Vegetables • Coarse Farmhouse Pate.

Main Course
Roast Northumbrian Lamb with a Rosemary and Redcurrant Jus • Prime Fillet or Sirloin Steaks cooked to your liking with perhaps garlic butter or a green peppercorn sauce • Fish from North Shields Fish Quay • Salmon • Lemon Sole • Monkfish or Sea Bass may be simply grilled with Herb Butter or served with a Light Cream Sauce • Hearty Home-made Game and Mushroom Pie • Pan Fried Breast of Marinated Chicken with Honey Roasted Peppers.

Vegetarian and salad choices will also be available.

Sweets
Sticky Toffee Pudding • Raspberry Crème Brulee • Tuile Basket filled with Ice Cream and topped with Summer Fruits • Lemon and Lime Cheesecake.

Our blackboard menu changes from day to day, and includes traditional favourites plus a few more adventurous dishes, for example:

Delicious Home-made Soups • our own Steak and Kidney Pie • Home-made Lasagne • Ploughman's with a selection of cheeses and a range of freshly prepared salads and sandwiches.

Many of our daytime favourites are also available in the evening.

On Sundays we serve sizzling traditional roasts with all the trimmings, such as Roast Sirloin of Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, or Roast Northumbrian Lamb with fresh mint sauce.

For vegetarians
Alternatively, vegetarian options are available (and we're not talking flabby omelette), or for those with a less hearty appetite, a selection of crisp and tasty salads.
